SYLVIA HADDAD
Executive Managing Director
Sylvia Haddad is an executive managing director at The Lansco Corporation who has been with the company for 25 years. She represents a wide cross-section of the commercial real estate industry, expertly balancing the needs of both landlords and tenants in the office and retail sectors, across local, national and international markets.
After beginning her career at the public relations agency, Rogers & Cowan, Ms. Haddad’s assignment to relocate the office was her first introduction into real estate. She subsequently pursued a career in the commercial real estate industry after being impressed by Lansco as a tenant.
Ms. Haddad excelled in the office market, negotiating on behalf of the landlord at 79 Fifth Avenue to broker nearly 200,000 square feet that would be used for classrooms and executive offices for The New School. She arranged for the college to have a separate, private entrance for students and succeeded in making the concept of a “building within a building” popular with other urban schools. Ms. Haddad continued to demonstrate her novel ideas with retail tenants, working with The Children’s Place to break them out of its mall-oriented niche and establish their presence as a stand-alone retailer throughout Manhattan. She continued to assist them in securing locations in Brooklyn, Queens and key U.S. cities.
In addition to national retailers such as The Children’s Place, Ms. Haddad has represented a wide range of retail clients in cosmetics, jewelry and apparel. She has also represented landlords in transactions where she signed on tenants such as Foundation Center, Sony, and The Limited.
Ms. Haddad credits her honesty and understanding of market values for her strong tenant, landlord and broker relationships. She also believes that her wide range of experience is what gives her a full grasp on the industry and satisfies all the needs of her clients.
Born in the Republic of Panama and having spent some time in Kobe, Japan, Ms. Haddad has lived in New York from a very young age. She is fluent in Spanish and is involved with The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) and International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). When she is away from the office, Ms. Haddad enjoys bike riding and golfing, and has just started ballroom dancing as her latest adventure.
