Before joining the New York City commercial real estate industry Mr. Melville worked in the international menswear field beginning in the buying offices of Macy’s New York and later as a merchandising and sales executive with such companies as Calvin Klein, Giorgio Armani and Valentino. His experiences ranged from retail buying to product development, budgeting, wholesaling and retailing.

For twenty years now Bill, as broker, consultant and advisor, has used this background in aiding national and international companies with their retail, office and showroom requirements in the Manhattan marketplace. These companies include Timberland, Hermes, Les Copains, Michael Kors, Lilith, Lulu Castagnette, Le Chateau and Moncler. Bill has also developed corporate relationships with Cingular Wireless, Helio, HSBC Bank USA, NA, The Gilbert Kaplan Foundation, the Pious XII Foundation and many others. He has executed retail and office transactions as well as investment sales.

Bill holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pittsburgh and a Masters of International Management (cum laude) from the American Graduate School of International Management, Phoenix, Ariz. He is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York. In his spare time Bill is an avid sailor, gardener, tennis player, and enjoys cooking and entertaining with his wife Linda Sheldon.
